About Us

Planting Seeds and a Lifelong Practice

Project Cooperation is a new organization founded by James Foreman and Betty Bailey. The seed thoughts and ideas began forming in March, 2020, at the beginning of the pandemic, and daily events since have validated the need for active cooperation everywhere in the world.

We were strongly compelled to build this organization while spending our lives working, studying, and learning how important the principles of cooperation are for individuals and society. James and Betty have experiences in common, but have had very different generational and life paths. This is just the beginning of a new process and journey that we hope to share with many people.

The two main symbols of development are the seed and the flower: a seed has all the potential it needs to become a tree, and a flower, from its closed bud, opens up and enables the fruit to form.

Betty Bailey

Teacher, Chef, Co-founder

Betty has had a life of discovery and adventure, which started while growing up in North Dakota. After graduating college she became a Home Economics and Child Development teacher in Minneapolis, where she worked in Middle and High Schools. She moved her family to Crested Butte, Colorado, and went on to teach and serve many individuals and groups over the past 30 years.

Having sold all their properties and major assets in the 80’s, Betty, and her partner Barry, have had epic adventures when not working or teaching. Each of the last 40 years they have been backpacking extensively throughout the canyons of Utah and Arizona, as well as the mountain ranges of the Western U.S.

For Project Cooperation Betty provides her knowledge, wisdom, and helps guide group discussions.

James Foreman

Organizer, Co-founder

James is multi-talented and has been exploring many ways to live and engage throughout his life and work. He was fortunate as a young student to study and work with other young International leaders in England, Wales, and Scotland. He is a graduate of the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, and Sonoma State University.

James met his wife Dawna at a Retreat Center near Sonoma, and they founded a company that produced and cooked for retreat groups throughout the United States. Gaining success and knowledge marketing retreat centers led James to working with small to large International companies and Nonprofits. James now runs a marketing agency serving dozens of large and small companies, dividing time at his home in Sonoma with adventures in Southern Utah, Arizona, and throughout the West.

James works within every aspect of Project Cooperation to lead groups, find projects for people to engage in, and provide outreach throughout the world.
